IT'S COMPLICATED

Sprung from a desire to expand the ways we think of love and see it represented, fellow Durham artists Angel Dozier, Wilson, Derrick Beasley and I created It's Complicated. The project brought 28 Durham storytellers and artists together to create community magic. Stories that ranged topics of non-monogamy, the loss of loved ones and lifelong friendships were interpreted into paintings, photography, film, dance and song.

 

Exhibited at the Carrack in February 2019, It's Complicated welcomed hundreds of Durhamites and visitors. The opening and closing receptions offered breathtaking performances and artist + storyteller talks.
